Dodge City, once known as "Queen of the Cow Towns", destroyed all their historic buildings in 1970 and built fast food restaurants. The town has since reconstructed Front Street, with replica buildings, to draw tourists in. Just follow the signs to The Long Branch Saloon, which now looks more like the one on Gunsmoke than the authentic one. Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson were both lawmen in Dodge City.

Abilene is the end of the Chisholm Trail. Many Longhorn Steer were driven to put on a train in Abilene. The Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum is also located in Abilene.

Wamego is fast approaching the status of "Oz Capital of the World" due to the The Wizard of Oz Museum, and other local Oz-related businesses. The Oz Museum was founded in April 2004 and houses one of the largest public displays of Oz memorabilia in existence. Ample signs will direct you to other Oz-related businesses in Wamego like "Toto's Tacos," the "Scizzors of Ahhhz," the "Emerald City Market", the "Flying Monkey Business", and the "Oz Winery". A stretch of highway 99 that passes through Wamego is called "The Road to Oz Highway." Every October, Wamego hosts Oztoberfest.
